Ingredients

  • 150 ml milk (hand-hot)
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 150 ml natural yaghurt (lightly beaten)
  • 1 egg (lightly beaten)
  • 450 g plain flour (sifted)
  • 2 tsp caster sugar
  • 2 tsp dried yeast
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder

Method

  • Step 1   Mixed together the flour, sugar, yeast, salt and baking powder.
  • Step 2   Mix in 2 tbsp of the oil, the yoghurt and egg.
  • Step 3   Knead until elastic (15-20 minutes) and then leave to prove in a draugh-free place for 45 minutes.
  • Step 4   Knead a little, then divide into balls, roll out thinly, place on floured baking tray, and allow to rise for 15 minutes.
  • Step 5   Cook in the pre-heated oven at 180C for 5 minutes. Then brush on with the remaining oil (or butter/ghee) grill on each side for 2 minutes.
